Misconceptions About Stress:

  1. We always know when we are under stress. (Myth). Often people become accustomed to stress, they become unaware of it.

  2. Stress is caused by events that happen to us. (Myth). It is not the events themselves that cause distress but rather the views we take of the events.

  3. Emotions have a will of their own and can’t be controlled. (Myth). We can change our feelings by changing our behavior or by changing our thinking.
